CONTEXT:
Global Overheads Finance Excellence Team sits at the epicenter of Unilever’s Digital Finance journey, pioneering one of the biggest finance transformations in Unilever’s recent history. The team operates in the Unilever Operations unit (UniOps) which champions “Better for Less through Data, Technology and Service”. UniOps provides itself in innovation and operational excellence, and with the OH FET, it marks its first foray from finance services to performance management. Global OH FET aims to streamline E2E overheads management by centralizing governance processes and standardizing operations to enable and faster decision making for Unilever at the right level.
THE ROLE (WL 1D):
The Global FET Overheads Asst Finance Manager works with the Global Cost Controllers and team to drive value through a range of levers including overheads performance management, budgeting and forecasting, and leading statistical cost process.
The role reports to the Global FET Finance Manager and is a key member of Finance Operations Global Cost controls team, working closely with peers across Global Teams, Divisions and PMU’s.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for Month end close for Global cost of 3.5bn Euro.
Hold monthly governance and obtain sign off global cost results from Global Cost controller and GCAD.
Maintain Audit documentation and support quarterly and annual audit
Lead Annual rollover and restatement of P&L for Global cost.
Monthly performance analysis for both actuals and forecasts to extract insights, identify hot spots to support and drive corrective actions beyond global cost – responsible for total overhead costs – 6bn Euro
Understand the high value variances, work with the PMU partners to drive qualitative comment’s and possible actions on gap analysis to drive right conversations between PMU partners.
Drive simplification and automation of reporting process.
Support adhoc analysis for Global cost controllers head and presentation to Sr leadership

KEY REQUIREMENTS:
Clear understanding of Unilever Management Accounts, Functions, Processes and Systems
SAP Operational Knowledge (ECC and BW) and Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - MS Excel and PowerPoint
Understanding of Accounting
Strong Analytical capability with numerical ability
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues
Understanding of business and ability to visualise activity in market, Customer oriented mind-set
Good oral & written communication skills, Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task
Ability to build effective relationships across different language/cultural and organisational styles
Ability to work with a diverse virtual team
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Chartered Accountancy or equivalent degree.
